Bishop Timothy Wayne Griffin, II is a prophetic voice, visionary leader, author, and transformative pastor whose dynamic preaching and apostolic insight have shaped congregations across the Northeast and beyond. Born in Augusta, Georgia, he accepted Christ at five and answered his call to ministry at seven, a foundation that has carried him into a lifetime of Kingdom impact.

Preaching the Gospel for 34 years and pastoring for two decades, he has proven to be both a student and a good steward of the text. At just 21, he stepped into pastoral leadership, growing a small congregation into Greater Victory Alliance Cathedral, which later merged with St. John Sounds of Praise to become City of Victory Sounds of Praise in Sylvania, Georgia. In 2015, Bishop Griffin was consecrated as the youngest Bishop in the history of the Sounds of Praise Pentecostal Fellowship Ministries, the same year Bishop Allen H. Simmons appointed him to lead the historic Saint Paul, Sounds of Praise in Newark, New Jersey, where he continues to serve.

He now serves as Bishop of Protocol and Administration, Chair of the National Board of Directors, and North East Regional Bishop, overseeing churches throughout New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Delaware, under the apostolic leadership of Apostle Allen H. Simmons and Judge Janice Y. Simmons.

Bishop Griffin has an unwavering commitment to the Word, living out the spirit of 1 Timothy 4:12. He is both a student and a steward of the scriptures. He is passionate about discipleship and the development of believers and equally passionate about defending the faith. He is the founder of Ascend Conference, a platform for spiritual activation and leadership development. His preaching ministry has traveled him extensively throughout the United States and internationally traveling to preach the Gospel abroad to Thailand, Jamaica, El Salvador, Pakistan, and many other parts of the world.

In October 2025, Bishop Griffin was honored with the 2025 Humanitarian Award, presented by Newark Mayor the Honorable Ras J. Baraka and Council Member-At-Large the Honorable Rev. Louise Roundtree during the 12th Annual Newark Interfaith Clergy Alliance Prayer Breakfast, in recognition of his service to the City of Newark.
